  • Demonstrate mastery of the story “Rikki-tikki” and its literary terms
  • Continue to collaborate and cooperate with my peers to complete our project: visually depicting character traits of a character using contextual evidence as support.
Procedure:
  • Copy HW into agenda
  • What is/are today's objective(s)?
  • Briefly review together for today’s test before beginning
  • Take Common Assessment over “Rikki-tikki-tavi”
    • When finished, students may read independently
    • If there’s time, take U2 P1 Pretest and begin pages 28-30 in Word Wisdom
HW:
  • Pages 28-30 in WW due Wednesday
  • Be sure to have a copy of Crash in class on Wednesday!
  • Prepare for U2P1 posttest on Friday

Tuesday, 9/25/12 (Mrs. Tolin will be out of class due to DAT meeting)

  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively to complete Character Posters, demonstrating knowledge of indirect, direct, external and internal characterization.
  • Show respect and kindness towards the substitute.

  • You must have a copy of the book Crash by Jerry Spinelli in class tomorrow!!!
  • Pages 28-30 in Word Wisdom book due tomorrow
  • Pages 31-33 in WW due Thursday.
  • Prepare for U2P1 posttest on Friday.

  • Demonstrate completion of Character Poster Project (indirect, direct, external & internal characterization)
Procedure:
  • Copy HW in agenda
  • What is today’s objective?
  • Check/Collect HW:
    • Collect posters.
    • Check WW HW (pgs 28-30)
    • Book/Supply Check: Crash
    • Watch “Rikki-tikki-tavi” cartoon video
    • Complete Crash “Book Look” and read the Author Interview
HW:
  • WW pages 31-33 due Thursday
  • U2P1 posttest Friday
  • Bring Crash to class every day.

Thursday, 9/27/12

  • Self-assess current knowledge of U2 P1 words by checking my answers to pages 30-33
  • Listen and read along attentively to Crash, identifying details of its exposition.
Procedure:
  • Copy HW into agenda
  • What is/are today's objective(s)?
  • Check WW pages & correct answers
  • Discuss Crash author background & begin reading Chapters 1-4 in class on CD
    • Complete “Reading Guide” while listening/reading
HW:
  • Study for U2P1 posttest tomorrow
